Picnic Report!

Hello friends, Julia here again! As you all know, THCanada.com or, Tokio Hotel Canada, just turned four years old yesterday! To celebrate, a few forum moderators and I organized a picnic in High Park, Toronto to celebrate. Below is my account of the day, but before I begin, I want to say thank you to Jen for helping me to organize this event, Jenna and Vera for buying candy, baking cupcakes for guests and organizing our “Don’t Forget the Lyrics” game, Amy for donating wonderful THCanada.com magnets for all our guests, our friends at Universal Records Canada for donating some of the prizes, and finally to all the fans that showed up! This was my first time organizing something like this, so thanks so much for baring with us through the hiccups! The money we raised at the picnic will help towards the event expense and put towards more contests!

Each fan was given a goodie bag with either a Humanoid or Scream sticker, some candy, and a THCanada magnet!

Today was the day! Living in St. Catharines, I had to get up early to make sure everything was ready and then take the 2 hour (depending of traffic) up to Toronto. Jen and I packed the car full and set off, worried about rain, but greeted instead with 40°C weather! After the long, hot drive, we made it to the picnic area and started unloading the car, and putting together the goodie bags. Each fan was given a goodie bag with either a Humanoid or Scream sticker, some candy, and a THCanada magnet!

Fans began to arrive a little bit before noon, bringing their picnic lunches and taking a seat at one of the tables. It was so hot outside, but we beat the heat with games like “Don’t Forget the Lyrics” and Tokio Hotel Trivia. I had organized a badminton tournament, but it was much too hot to make anyone sweat for their prizes. All in all, we gave away CDs, posters, stickers and magnets. A two lucky people won raffles of THCanada tote bags, and the grand raffle prize containing a Tokio Hotel Medium “Rock Art T-Shirt”, Schrei CD Single, Der Letzte Tag Single CD1, Der Letzte Tag Single CD2, Rette Mich CD Single, Leb’ Die Sekunde DVD, all wrapped up in a cool THCanada Tote Bag went out later in the afternoon. Vera and I had baked the night before, and offered Rice Krispie Squares and cupcakes to everyone! I hope everyone liked those!

Fans gather for "Don't Forget the Lyrics"

On the way home, I had to give Jen a pat on the back. She is not a fan of the band, but she stuck it out and helped me organize everything! On the way home, the heat was so bad that the car stopped in the middle of the highway, but that’s another story, hehe.

In the end, many of the people who RSVP’d didn’t attend, but we were okay with that, because I still had a great time with our little group, and I hope that everyone else did, too. Maybe next year we can do it again, and hope for more mild weather! Thanks again, everyone who helped, and everyone who stuck with us during our first big fan meeting. Lots of fans came up to me after and asked if we could do it again next year, that really warmed my heart… So, I hope that we can, and it will be better than the last!

THCanada Picnic'ers!

Hurray! Today, THCanada turns four years old!

That’s right, THCanada, the first ever all-Canadian site for Tokio Hotel turned official fanclub has now been active for four whole years! So, this is Julia, here, saying thank you to everyone who has helped us along! Thank you Tokio Hotel for inspiring this site, all forum moderators and admins, the french translation team, to those who organize fan-meetings, and all the fans who contribute to the site with news, fan works, comments, and continue to trust and visit us. Also, the biggest thank you goes to our friends from Universal Music, who have supported us and helped us out every step of the way so that we can hold contests, giveaways, and fan meetings, while spreading the word of Tokio Hotel!

Today, over 70 fans will be gathered, rain or shine in Toronto at High Park for games, food, contests, and free Tokio Hotel merchandise to celebrate our turning four!

Let’s look forward to a long-lived Canadian fanclub, and show Tokio Hotel we’re always going to be the best fans in the world!

Eh oui, THCanada, le tout premier site officiel entièrement canadien de Tokio Hotel a été actif pendant quatre années entières! Alors, moi Julia, ici présente, je remercie tous ceux qui nous ont aidé tout au long! Merci à Tokio Hotel pour avoir inspiré ce site, à tous les modérateurs et admins des forums, à l’équipe de traduction en Français, à ceux qui organisent des rencontres de fans et à tous les fans qui contribuent au site en envoyant des nouvelles, des fan works et des commentaires, et surtout continuez à croire en nous et à nous visiter. De plus, le plus grand remerciement va à nos amis de Universal Music, qui nous ont supporté et aidé à travers chaque étape, pour que nous puissions ainsi organiser des concours, des distributions de cadeaux et des rencontres de fans, tout en faisant passer le mot à propos de Tokio Hotel!

Sunday Morning Roundup?

Tomorrow is THCanada’s fourth anniversary, and we are having a huge fan meeting in High Park, Toronto to celebrate. This means that I won’t be here to do the MondayMorning Roundup, as I’ll be busy setting up for the party! So, today I bring you, the Sunday Morning Roundup!

Tokio Hotel will be in the August 2011 Vol. #332 issue of INROCK Magazine in Japan! If you want to pay their shipping costs, Magazine Cafe will most likely have copies of the magazine once it comes out. See all the scans, here!
Fans who have sent in emails about writing content for us may have to wait another few days, we’ve been very busy setting up for the fan party! Sorry!

Demain, c’est le 4ième anniversaire de THCanada, et il y aura un énorme rassemblement de fans à High Park, Toronto pour le célébrer. Fan meeting in Montreal!

Des fans ont planifié un rassemblement à Montréal, Québec le 9 Août! L’idée consiste à se rencontrer devant le studio de Musique Plus, et à décider quoi faire par après. Ça fait tellement longtemps depuis le dernier rassemblement, ça va faire du bien! Tout le monde est invité, sentez-vous à l’aise de nous joindre.

Vous pouvez aussi visiter la page Facebook de l’événement et le sujet sur le Forum Français pour obtenir plus d’information, comme l’adresse du studio de MP, l’heure, etc.

J’ai hâte de tous vous voir.

On July 18th, it will be THCanada’s 4th birthday! To celebrate, fans are gathering in Toronto, Ontario for a picnic in High Park where there will be raffles, games and giveaways. If you can’t make it to the event, don’t worry, we have a lot of new contest ideas coming up in the future, so keep on the lookout for those. Or, if you’re itching to meet fans in your area, and want to plan a fan meeting, a great place to start is the forums.

Oui, l’anniversaire du Canada, autrement dit la Fête du Canada, est déjà passée, mais les membres de THCanada ont toujours la chance de gagner un album Schrei – So Laut Du Kannst grâce au Concours TokiOH CANADA. Le concours se termine le 15 Juillet, alors envoyez vos entrées! Cliquez ici pour participer au concours.
Le 18 Juillet, ce sera le 4ième anniversaire de THCanada! Pour célébrer ceci, des fans se rassembleront à Toronto, Ontario pour pique-niquer à High Park, où il y aura des tombolas, des jeux et des distributions de cadeaux. Si vous ne pouvez pas participer à l’événement, ne vous inquiétez pas, nous avons toutes sortes d’idées pour de nouveaux concours à venir, alors surveillez tout ça. Ou bien, si vous voulez vraiment rencontrer des fans dans votre secteur, et voulez organiser une rencontre de fans, les forums sont la place idéale pour commencer.

3 Ans de Tokio Hotel au Québec!

À l’occasion des trois ans de la venue de Tokio Hotel au Québec, nous mettons un projet en place pour montrer au groupe que nous sommes tous aussi présent qu’avant et que nous n’oublions pas tout ce qu’ils ont fait pour nous.

Donc voici comment ça se passera.
Jusqu’au 20 Juillet 2011, vous aurez la possibilitié d’envoyer à l’adresse suivante :

-Des textes écrits pour le groupe.
-Des photos de vous, représentant Tokio Hotel au Québec
-Des covers de Tokio Hotel.
-Votre univers Tokio Hotel à l’entour de vous.
-Des Souvenirs de vos concerts du groupe
-Vos Oeuvres d’arts (dessins, peintures, sculpture etc…) sur le groupe.
-Etc…

La section Oeuvre d’arts sera de son côté plus spéciale. Un prix sera accordé selon les votes des fans. Ce n’est pas tant le talent qui compte, mais le temps dévoué au projet, ainsi que l’originalité.

Après le 20 Juillet, tous les projets de chaques catégories seront réunis en un bel ensemble, qui sera envoyé au groupe. Le but étant d’envoyer à temps pour le 9 Août 2011, date à laquelle cela fera exactement 3 ans de la dernière fois qu’ils sont passés par notre merveilleuse province canadienne…

Le gagnant sera averti vers le 9 Août, après mon retour de vacances sur une île déserte. Soyez original et participez en grand nombre!
