There’s a lot going down at the NRJ awards in Cannes, France.
At first, it was announced that the Black Eyed Peas won the award for Best International Group, but there was just an announcement that there had been an error. The real winners are, infact, TOKIO HOTEL.

Tokio Hotel was not present at the show, nor was there any acceptance video for the award.
An article from Yahoo France talks about the mistake and said that at least, TH didn’t come for nothing. Obviously, they don’t even know that TH wasn’t present.
However, many articles are popping up around French news sites about the mistake. I guess a good side of this is that TH is getting a lot of press because of the error.
Thanks to emynona for keeping us up to date with information.

I feel really bad for Black Eyed Peas. Imagine getting an award handed out to you, then getting it snatched out of your hands a few minutes later…
This wasn’t the first time that NRJ made that mistake at an awards show either. Seriously, they need to get more organized.
But on a more optimistic side, congratulations to TH! Award number 74, I believe?

I think it’s upsetting to fas of both bands, TBH. I never did expect Tokio Hotel to show up, so I wasn’t too disappointed about that, but I am still disappointed with the unprofessionalism of the show. D:

Yeah, it was quite a mix up. I think there was confusion all around of whether TH was going to be there or not. I wish they had just posted an official list of the attendees xD
